How does your media product represent particular social groups?

The social group I have chosen to represent in my title sequence is young white adults. I feel in my film I have done a good job of representing this particular social group.

For example the two teens where relatively content with their actions until the forest figure had made himself aware. Until that point they weren’t giving the audience any impression that they were scared of what they were looking for. I feel this gives my film a sense of verisimilitude.

I didn’t see any importance is exploring any other social groups. This is down to the location of the film. For example when I was planning the opening I originally planned it to have two boys and one girl exploring the old house but when I decided to change location I thought having a female lead wasn’t needed and would be best suited for only the two boys to explore the forest.

However later in the film when the forests figure shows us his face. The audience will clearly see that the man is much older than the two teens I would try and represent him as a 40-50 year old who has serious problems and should be in an asylum.

I feel that representing the man in this way could strike some huge emotion in the main characters which would hopefully get that representation across to the audience
